Overview
MaaPura supports cancellation across three primary transaction types: marketplace orders, event registrations, and recurring donations or NRV sponsorships. This Policy describes when cancellation is possible and how refunds (if any) are issued. It should be read together with our Refund Policy and Terms of Service.
Marketplace orders (GramaShoppe)
- Before shipment — you may cancel any order at no charge before the artisan dispatches the package. Open the order from Orders and use the "Cancel order" action. A full refund (product + shipping + GST) is initiated within 3 working days and credited to the original payment instrument within 7–10 working days as per Razorpay timelines.
- After shipment — once the artisan hands the package to the courier partner, the order can no longer be cancelled. You may, however, refuse delivery and initiate a return under the Refund Policy within 7 days of delivery.
- Custom-made items — if production of a made-to-order item has begun (the artisan's declared lead time will state this), cancellation may not be possible. The artisan will reach out via the in-app chat to confirm.
Event registrations
Cancellation of event registrations (Grama Sangamam, health camps, blood donation drives, training workshops) follows the event policy declared at the time of registration. The default rules are:
- Free events — registration can be cancelled at any time from the event detail page. Your slot is released to the next participant on the waitlist. No refund is applicable.
- Paid events — more than 24 hours before the event — full refund (less the payment-gateway fee) is initiated within 5 working days.
- Paid events — less than 24 hours before the event — registration fee is non-refundable, because the village host has already provisioned material, food and logistics. You may, however, transfer your registration to another verified citizen by writing to support@maapura.orgwith the new participant's details.
- Event cancelled by the organiser — full refund is issued automatically within 7 working days of the cancellation announcement.
Recurring donations & sponsorships
Recurring donations (monthly / quarterly / annual) and NRV sponsorships (Adopt-a-Mother, Adopt-a-School, Adopt-a-Senior) can be cancelled at any time, with no questions asked. Cancellation stops all future charges; instalments already paid are not refunded except as expressly stated in the Refund Policy.
Cancelling a recurring contribution does not withdraw the impact already delivered — the trees already planted, the health-camp slot already filled, the elderly food-kit already disbursed are not reversible.
How to cancel
- Marketplace order — go to Shop → Orders→ open the order → tap "Cancel order". Alternatively email orders@maapura.orgwith the order ID.
- Event registration — go to Events→ open the event → tap "Cancel registration".
- Recurring donation / sponsorship — open your Dashboard → My Sponsorshipsand use the "Stop renewals" action, or email refunds@maapura.org.
For payment-gateway disputes, you may also raise a chargeback request with your bank or card network, but we strongly encourage you to contact us first so we can resolve the issue faster.
